The first store to open in exciting new shopping project The Village doesn’t disappoint. Set over four floors and measuring a whopping 3,170sqm, the new Adidas ‘brand centre’ is the biggest in the world. It’s the sort of place that makes even the exercise-averse want to strap on a pair of hi-tech trainers and go for a run.

Adidas appears to have overtaken Nike in the trendy stakes, as evidenced by the achingly cool Stella McCartney creations and Yohji Yamamoto’s razor sharp designs in the Y-3 section. There’s even an entire top floor dedicated to Adidas originals (old school trainers and tracksuits) and an urban area for pop-up exhibitions and events.

Add to that a raft of interactive skills games, plenty of Olympic-themed kit and Beijing’s first Element Fresh juice bar and you’ve got yourself one mighty fun store.
